A blend of historical architecture, student life, epicurean delights and oak-lined avenues, Stellenbosch is a picturesque university town surrounded by mountains and vineyards in the Western Cape Province of South Africa. A walking tour of the town center allows visitors to take in its beautifully preserved Cape Dutch and Victorian architecture, as well as the many enticing art galleries, craft shops, clothing boutiques and gift stores, while foodies may prefer indulging in mouth-watering cuisine, and fine wines at one of the chic restaurants or buzzing bistros. Stellenbosch is also the ideal base from which to explore the renowned local wine route, boasting a high proportion of the country’s leading wine estates.

Fringing the southwestern coast of South Africa, Gansbaai is a charming fishing town and a popular tourist destination in the Overberg area of the Western Cape. This renowned whale watching mecca is home to the Marine Big 5 namely the southern right whales, seals, penguins, dolphins and a dense population of great white sharks. Dubbed the ‘The Great White Shark Capital Of The World’, Gansbaai offers visitors the chance to get up close and personal with these fascinating marine creatures. Visitors can look forward to a host of marine adventures, learning about local heritage and culture and spotting unique fauna and flora. Don’t miss the opportunity to explore the spectacularly scenic rugged landscapes traversed with a network of scenic hiking trails and soak up a magnificent sunset. Other highlights include: De Kelders, Pearly Beach, Uilkraal Valley and Walker Bay Nature Reserve.

Located along the well-known Route 62 in South Africa’s beautiful Klein Karoo, the charming town of Oudtshoorn is known as the ostrich capital of the world. It is surrounded by numerous ostrich farms and the golden arid landscape of the Karoo. Visitors can enjoy the locally produced wine and port; sample ostrich meat and biltong; learn about the ostrich feather boom at the C.P. Nel Museum; and visit the world-renowned Cango Caves, the largest cave system in Africa featuring ancient rock formations and sparkling stalactites and stalagmites. Other popular activities include: mountain biking, paragliding, horse riding, and taking a day trip to the quaint town of Prince Albert over the scenic Swartberg Pass.

Resting in a fertile valley the majestic Outeniqua Mountains and the Indian Ocean and set along South Africa’s world-famous Garden Route, the historic city of George is the sixth oldest town in the country and was once a woodcutter’s outpost. Today, the town is the commercial hub of the Garden Route. Surrounded by endless beaches, soaring mountains, and glittering lakes, and is a haven for nature lovers and adventurers, while providing all the luxuries of a modern town, including a great number of excellent restaurants and shops. Visitors can play a round of golf on a variety of championship courses, discover local history at the fascinating George Museum and visit the Garden Route Botanical Garden, which features sublime trails and brightly-colored local fynbos plants.

After breakfast, you will have some time to say goodbye. Drop the vehicle off at George  Airport and catch a flight to your next leg of your amazing tour
